MapForge pivot · manual projection mapping

Hosted MapMap POC

Proof of concept — not production replacement

MapForge is pivoting into a MapMap-derived manual mapping client. Use the new Connect Projection Node control to pick a node feed, preload its camera/reference context, then open the hosted MapMap/noVNC session. When you are ready to project, use the bright Send Output to Projection Node control below.

License tracked intentionally

GPL-3.0 accepted for this overhaul

MapMap is GPL-3.0. Christian explicitly accepted GPL obligations for the MapMap-based MapForge overhaul on 2026-06-06. This route links to the POC only; this slice does not copy MapMap source into the existing MapForge repo.

Automatic preload path

Use a node launch route

Open /mapmap/node/<nodeId>/launch. The launcher preselects that node feed, shows the latest camera JPEG/MJPEG URLs, and keeps that context visible when opening MapMap.

Output safety

Projector pages stay clean

This page is a cloud/manual-mapper entry point. Projector-only routes remain free of control UI.
